Scientist by day, Artist by night
I have been drawing ever since I was young and enjoyed using mediums such as colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, and graphite. When I was in high school, I enrolled in an AP art class and quickly learned how to paint using acrylic, watercolor, and oil paints. Unfortunately, I developed carpal tunnel in my dominant hand after finishing my portfolio of over 30 pieces in one year. I was advised to limit my painting as this could make it worse, but giving up painting completely was never an option for me. I decided to learn how to draw and paint with my feet! Even though I am now able to use my hand to paint for short periods of time (because of many physical therapy sessions, cortisol injections, and pain management techniques), I still do most of my painting with my feet. Below are some of my art features through the years including pieces done with both my hands and feet!

TX MedstArt Oil Painting Workshop
In 2020, at the start of the COVID 19 pandemic, I hosted a virtual oil painting workshop. The workshop was recorded and shared with the children’s hospitals throughout Texas for the children who were not able to attend.
